Questions about how MOVO works

Plain-English answers about the video-based intake, the Movement Intelligence Report, how the phone camera replaces a wearable sensor, provider matching, and what your practice sees once you're set up.

Intake

What does the MOVO intake look like for a patient?

A short health questionnaire — the same questions a PT would ask at a first visit — followed by four guided videos: posture, walk, squat, and shoulder abduction. The whole flow takes about 90 seconds, on any modern phone. Nothing to install, nothing to charge, and nothing to ship to the patient.

Intake

Do patients need to install an app or create an account?

No. Patients tap a link their PT sends them and record the four videos in the phone’s browser. There is no patient app to download, no account to create, and no login to remember. The same flow works on iPhone and Android, which matters especially for older or less tech-fluent patients.

Report

What does the Movement Intelligence Report contain?

A per-movement score for posture, walk, squat, and shoulder abduction (left, right, and both), each with a tier label (Excellent, Good, Fair) and a short clinical note. The patient sees a plain-English summary they can read themselves; the matched provider receives the scored detail and per-movement reasoning they can act on in a care plan.

Report

Why does MOVO use the phone camera instead of a wearable IMU sensor?

The four guided movements give the same trunk and lower-extremity picture a clinical camera setup would capture — and the patient already owns the device. The smartphone-as-sensor model removes every per-patient consumable: no IMU pod to ship, no firmware to update, no clinic visit for calibration. Patients capture on their schedule, and the report arrives before the next visit.

Matching

How does MOVO match me with a provider?

The matching engine uses your Movement Intelligence Report and your questionnaire answers to pair you with providers based on clinical specialty (orthopedic, neurologic, sports, pelvic health, vestibular, and more), treatment philosophy (hands-on, exercise-based, hybrid), populations served (age, condition, life stage, language), and certifications. The goal is a real fit — not a generic referral.

Matching

What if there isn’t a MOVO provider in my area yet?

MOVO is onboarding its founding cohort of clinics and providers now, so coverage varies by region. Your Movement Intelligence Report is built so any PT you bring it to can act on it — you are not locked into the matching engine. If we cannot match you yet, we say so directly and your PT can use the report independently.

Privacy

Who can see my Movement Intelligence Report?

You decide. By default, only the provider MOVO matches you with sees your report. The clinic that invited you does not see it unless you forward it, and MOVO does not sell or share patient data with anyone. You can revoke sharing at any time from your intake page.

Privacy

How is my data protected?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with access gated by authenticated sessions. The clinic dashboard and the matched provider each see only what their role needs — not the other’s records. Audit logs capture every login, invite, and video capture event, and the platform is hosted on HIPAA-eligible infrastructure.

Practice

Who owns the patient data when a clinic uses MOVO?

The clinic owns the data. Every Movement Intelligence Report, video clip, and trend belongs to the practice — your team can export, attach to the EHR record, or delete a patient’s history at any time. Active patient data is retained for the life of the patient relationship plus the documentation window your practice requires, and you receive a full export if you stop using MOVO.

Pricing

How does MOVO’s pricing work for a clinic?

One MOVO subscription — $18/month or $150/year, your pick. No per-patient fees, no per-session add-ons, no setup charges. Every provider on MOVO pays the same, and you can switch between monthly and annual any time.
